If you have a Hikvision camera that has an option for WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) and you cannot enable it or turn it on. check the following:
HLC must be off
BLC must be off
and most importantly if your camera supports multiple modes like 1920x1080 and 2048x1536 or some other mode 4k/5k etc. make sure it is set to the highest mode. In my case the camera had to be set to 2048x1536@30fps for WDR to be enabled.
the setting is located in Image/display settings/video adjustment/capture mode.
